I am a wife and mother of three little ones, living in the Rochester, NY area. My first birth resulted in a cesarean delivery. I realized I didn’t want this to dictate the number of children I could have so I started to research how to achieve a vaginal birth after cesarean (VBAC).
Through my research I was shocked to find how uninformed I had been before having my first baby. It was then I became passionate about empowering mothers to make fully informed decisions about their fertility, bodies and birth. I went on to deliver my next two children vaginally and unmedicated.
Prior to becoming a mother’s advocate I was a research scientist working in academia. While I left that behind to pursue my passion, I bring this research based perspective to my clients.
As a doula I have had experience in supporting mom’s through cesarean delivery, high risk pregnancy, prodromal labors, natural unmedicated vaginal deliveries, home birth and more.
I have breastfeeding experience with nursing through pregnancy, tandem nursing, supporting mom through formula supplementation to exclusively breastfeeding, nipple trauma, latch issues, pumping milk, baby led weaning, etc.
Over the years of working with women and after running a support group for Natural Family Planning, I have seen there is a need for more information regarding fertility awareness. This inspired me to start teaching and promoting fertility awareness, as well as, counseling couples on the right fertility awareness methods for their phase of life and lifestyle.
Ultimately, I simply strive to meet women where they are and aid them in whatever way I am able. Let me know if there is any way I can help you!
